Headley Park Weekend 21-22 February 2009

The weekend took place in unseasonably bright and warm February weather. The theme was the development of the romantic symphony, and the programme included Mozart's 40th, Beethoven's 3rd, Brahms' 3rd and Tchaikovsky's 5th. Memorable moments included Anthony directing the finale of Tchaikovsky's 5th from the trumpet! For good measure we also played Tchaikovsky's violin concerto with Mihkel as soloist. Aspiring conductors were able to hone their skills. Anthony held a conducting class in glorious sunshine on the lawn, and each student took turns to conduct the opening of Beethoven's 3rd.
